On 20th January 2025, the Photonics & Quantum Accelerator (PQA) hosted a co-creation workshop to explore key challenges and opportunities in Scotland’s photonics sector. A range of academics across the PQA consortium met with 16 photonics-related businesses to develop discussions centred around four themes:
- Technical challenges
- Facilities and infrastructure
- Skills and workforce development
- Public Engagement and outreach
This report consolidates the discussions, identifies recurring themes, and presents five key recommendations that the PQA has started to address.
